Description

I decided to image this object again, this time without a full moon. The only reason I imaged it last time was because, with the lack of clear nights here, I have to take any opportunity that comes my way. This time I took 39 subs at 8 minutes long each. On deep analysis, I could see no more fine nebulous detail in the images stacked than I could the other night, when I imaged this under a full moon! Can anyone explain to me how this is possible please? I have 11 more subs this time, and every sub was one minute longer than the last time - I cannot work out why. The only reason why I personally think this image is slightly better than my previous posting, having brought out a little more of the OIII 'bubble', as well as improving the background, is because I feel I processed it better... Oh well that is astrophotography for you! Integration time was 5 hours 12 minutes, through my Canon 700Da and 8" scope. Thanks!
